If you have a legal obligation, a contract deadline or a tender to respond to, the path through the platform is the same, but the order and timing matter more.
Start earlier than you think you need to
An Expert Manual Review is done by a person. Allow time for the quote, the approval, the review itself, and at least one round of fixes before you need the result. Two to four weeks is a reasonable buffer for most sites. More for a large or complex one.
The order
- Scan now. Get your automated results immediately so you know what you are dealing with.
- Fix the obvious things. Automated findings you can clear quickly raise your score before the specialist looks at it.
- Request the review. Do this as soon as the obvious things are fixed, not when everything is perfect. The review will find the things you cannot find yourself.
- Fix what the review finds. Especially the Expert Notes on failed criteria.
- Scan again and compare. Confirm your fixes landed.
- Request a second review if the deadline allows. A second score showing improvement is a stronger result than one score in isolation.
What to ask for in a tender
Most tenders that mention accessibility ask for evidence of WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. The Expert-Verified report is that evidence. Share the public link rather than attaching a PDF, because the link includes the verified badge and the QR code a reviewer can check.
ADA Title II deadlines
If you are a US state or local government entity, the Department of Justice's ADA Title II rule requires WCAG 2.1 AA for your websites. Deadlines vary by organisation size. Your scan results and Expert-Verified report are the documentation of your compliance effort.
