Change your password from Profile at any time.
Changing it
- Open Profile.
- Enter your current password, then your new one.
- Save.
You need your current password. That is deliberate: it means somebody who walks up to an unlocked laptop cannot lock you out of your own account in one click.
What we require
At least 8 characters. Beyond that we do not impose rules about symbols or capital letters, because those rules tend to produce predictable passwords rather than strong ones.
What actually helps: length, and never reusing a password from another service. A password manager handles both and is the single best thing you can do for your account.
You are told when it changes
We send a notification whenever your password changes. If one arrives and it was not you, change your password immediately and turn on two-factor authentication. See Two-factor authentication.
If you have forgotten it
Use the forgotten password link on the sign in page. You will need access to the email address on your account, which is one reason to keep it current. See Changing your email address.
