Closing your account is permanent, so the process is deliberately a few steps rather than one button.
Cancelling is not closing
If you only want to stop paying, cancel your subscription instead. You drop to the Free plan, your data stays, and you can come back whenever you like. Closing the account is the stronger action and removes your data.
Before you start: take both exports
Do this first, not after. There is no undoing it later.
- Your workspace export, from Workspace Settings, if you are an Owner. Websites, scans, results, issues and team activity as spreadsheet data.
- Your personal export, from Profile.
A dated record of what you found and fixed is exactly the evidence you want if anyone later asks what you did about accessibility, and it is the single thing people most regret not taking.
Closing it
- Open Profile.
- Choose to close the account.
- Confirm with your password.
Your password is required so that nobody at an unattended screen can do this on your behalf.
What happens next
The account does not vanish at once. It enters a waiting period, and during that time it is restricted: you can sign in, download your exports, restore the account, or choose Data Safe, but the rest of the portal is unavailable.
The deadline is shown on screen whenever you sign in during that period. Go by that, since it is calculated from your own request.
See After you request closure.
It affects your whole team
If you are the Owner, closing your account locks the workspaces you own, so your colleagues lose access too. Tell them beforehand, and if the work should continue without you, talk to support about moving ownership rather than closing and starting again.
Changing your mind
You can restore the account during the waiting period. See After you request closure.
