Downgrading needs more thought than upgrading, because a smaller plan may not have room for everything you currently have.
The check that happens first
When you choose a smaller plan, the portal compares what you have now against what the new plan allows: websites, workspaces and people. If everything fits, the change proceeds normally.
If you are over the new limits
You are shown a choose what to keep step. You decide which websites stay and which people keep their access, up to the new plan's allowance.
This is deliberate. The alternative would be us picking for you, and nobody wants to discover afterwards that the site we kept was the one that mattered least.
Go into it having already decided. Before you start:
- Work out which websites you genuinely still track.
- Export anything you want to keep from the sites you are giving up, because their scans and reports go with them.
- Check who on your team actually still needs access.
When it takes effect
A downgrade is normally scheduled for the end of your current billing period, so you keep what you have paid for. Until then you are still on your current plan with its current limits.
Changing your mind
A scheduled change can be cancelled from Billing before it takes effect, and nothing will have changed.
What happens to credits
Credits you already hold are yours and are not taken away by a downgrade. They keep their own expiry dates. Future welcome or bonus credits follow your new plan.
