What you get on the Free plan

The Free plan is a real plan, not a trial that expires. It exists so you can scan a site properly before deciding whether to pay for anything.

What you get

  • Up to 10 scans of each website you add
  • Up to 10 pages in any one scan
  • Full automated results and issue lists
  • Expert Manual Reviews on request, as on every plan, with a score and risk band on any scan you have reviewed
  • Downloadable PDF reports, carrying our branding
  • All six accessibility tools
  • Your team, with roles and per-website access
  • 100MB of storage
  • 20 credits, valid for 365 days

The two limits that catch people out

You wait three days between scans of the same site

Fix something, scan again, and you will be asked to wait. This is the limit Free users notice first, because the natural way to use the product is to fix and re-check. The portal tells you when the site is next available. Every paid plan removes the wait entirely.

One scan covers 10 pages

Discovery will usually find far more than 10 pages, and you choose which 10 to include. That is workable, and choosing well is a skill worth having anyway, but it does mean a scan of a large site is a sample rather than a survey. Starter raises this to 30 and Professional to 150.

What is not on Free

  • Scheduled scans. You start each scan yourself.
  • Your own branding on reports.
  • API access.

Making the most of it

With 10 pages, choose a spread rather than ten similar pages. Your home page, your main navigation landing pages, one page from each repeating template such as a product or article page, and any page with a form on it. That mix finds problems that repeat across the whole site.
