Your compliance score is a number from 0 to 100 that says how much of WCAG 2.1 AA your pages meet. It is produced at the end of an Expert Manual Review, and it is shown on that scan once the review is complete.
Why automated results have no score
Automated tests can only judge around half of the WCAG requirements. A score built only from them would count every requirement they cannot test as a pass, and would come out far higher than the site deserves. A number like that is worse than no number, particularly if you are relying on it for a contract or a legal obligation.
So the score waits for a specialist to check every requirement. When you see a score on this platform, a person has looked at every one of the 49 WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria for that scan.
What you get with it
- The score, out of 100, labelled WCAG 2.1 AA Compliance Score.
- A risk band: Low Risk, Needs Attention, High Risk or Critical Risk. See The four risk bands.
- The full expert audit: a verdict and notes for every criterion. See Reading the expert audit.
- An Expert-Verified Accessibility Report in place of the automated one.
- Sharing: a public link, QR code and embeddable badge.
Where it appears
On the scan's results page, in the website's scan history and score trend, on your dashboard, and in A11Y Top Score. Scans without a review show Pending Review in history instead of a number.
One score, one scan
The score belongs to the scan that was reviewed. A later scan of the same website starts without one. To see how things have moved since your review, compare the later scan's automated findings against the reviewed one. See Comparing two scans.
